Dear Parents and Community Members,
Annually, the California High School Exit Exam (CAHSEE) is administered to all 10th graders in February and March and is a requirement for high school graduation. Day one covers English Language Arts with a writing component and day two covers mathematics. The February 2015 administration will take place on Tuesday, February 3rd and Wednesday, February 4th. This test is offered to all 10th, 11th, and 12th graders on B, C and D track, but is most important to the 10th graders. This is their only opportunity to take the test during the school year. Additionally, a high attendance rate and a proficient score of 380 will help the school achieve its Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) toward meeting federal guidelines as outlined by No Child Left Behind (NCLB).
The test begins promptly at 7:30 AM both days, so please make sure your child gets a good night's sleep and arrives at school early. If you have any questions, please contact your child's counselor at (323) 832-4700.
